Know What Moves The Market

Three things to check on every event before you place a trade.

Impact

The bars show how much an event is expected to move the market. More filled bars mean higher impact, and often wider spreads around the release.

Before the release

Forecast is the consensus estimate before the release. Previous is the last reported value, which is sometimes revised.

After the release

The actual figure appears as soon as the data is published. A large gap between actual and forecast is what usually moves price.
